Shots taken during the Friday practice/qualifying for the Formula Le Mans, Radical European Masters, Le Mans series and the stars of the event, the Classic Endurance Racing series.

After a quick visit to the paddock, mainly to see how bad the McLaren M1 was damaged after going off on oil and hitting the pitwall, it was back over to Luffield for the racing. Poor light and a stiff breeze meant less photography and more watching....never a bad thing.

After an early morning visit to the infield in search of breakfast and pretty tin it was over to Luffield for an excellent days racing. The WSM race was run to dusk and images were shot from Priory.

The 59th running of the St. John Horsfall race was the headline event at a meeting that attracted a fantastic quality field. Other races included the Aston Martin Classics, pre 1960 sports racing cars, Aston Martin Historics, 50s sports car team challenge, super GTs and the David Brown challenge.

Second day of the International Trophy meeting and with lighter winds the heat haze was a real problem. I probably lost 70% of shots with still more suffering from varying degrees of distortion.
Categories running were GTSCC, Derek Bell trophy, 70s Roadsports, Formula Junior, historic racing saloons and the BRDC sportcars.

The first day of the International trophy meeting run at Silverstone by the HSCC. Track action from the historic FF1600, classic F3, historic road sports, Derek Bell trophy, Guards trophy, classic racing cars, historic FF2000 and GTSCC.
Heat haze was an issue as the day went on, with some images suffering from the dreaded distortion caused by having to shoot over acres of gravel traps and tarmac run off areas.

The first round of the FIA GT championship supported by 2 rounds of the British F3 series and a round of the FIA GT3 and European GT4 championships.

Besides the FIA GT championship there were also cars from the GT4 European cup, FIA GT3 and British F3 series running.

Circuit racing season opener for me and I hope it's not a sign of things to come. Silverstone was cold, very windy with rain and hail showers and the races were dull. Combined with this photographer have a off day a meeting to forget.

The final day of the Silverstone Classic meeting. Races include HSCC Road sports cars, BRDC Sports racing cars, Porsche road sports, Top Hat 1960-66 Touring cars, HGPCA Grand Prix cars 1925-65, Formula 1 cars 1966-85 and Aston Martin sports cars.

Day 2 of the Classic meeting featuring races for FIA Historic Formula 1, Formula Junior, HGPCA Grand Prix cars, Group C cars, Porsche road sports, Sports racing cars 1948-55, Formula 1 cars 1966-85, GT and Sports Endurance cars, Road Sports cars 1947-69, Grand Prix cars 1966-78, Pre-war Sports cars and World Masters Sports cars 1963-73. Also action from th Slowly Sideways rally stage.

Silverstone was shrouded in fog for much of the day, making life difficult for everyone. 5 races during the day and huge gaps in between, do the FIA never think of the real fans ?

A bitterly cold day, with a strong wind blowing hail and snow storms through. Action from Britsports (sic) Production S1, Alfa Romeo and Britcar series.

Shots taken during the two days of the Britcar meeting. First are the support races, SRCC sports 2000, Dutch Supercup, Porsche Open and Britsports/S1 and then a few from the pitlane walkabout followed by action during the Silverstone Britcar 24 hour race.

Day three and all the shots were from the Luffield terrace area.

Day two of the Classic meeting and I walked miles and miles. Shots were taken from Priory, Luffield, Abbey, Club, Vale and Stowe. Heat haze was a big problem as was a sometimes harsh sun.

Most of the day was spent in the pit garages, paddocks and wandering the infield.
In the late afternoon I did shoot some track action from Luffield. This included Group C/GTP, Woodcote Trophy and World sportscar Masters practice.

HSCC finals day. All the main HSCC championships were running and you could tell it was the last races of the season as some of the racing was very very close. Good luck repairing the cars over the winter.

Friday was mainly spent wandering the pits, paddocks and infield.
Later in the day there were two races for Formula Juniors and GT & Sports cars.

The Aston Martin Owners Club Horsfall meeting held at a very hot Silverstone, on the National circuit.

St John Horsfall Trophy, Aston Martin classic, Austin Healey Club, Aston Martin Historic, Intermarque, Mid-engined Sports car, 50s Sports car teams and half hour endurance races.

Spent the long weekend at Silverstone for the annual GP meeting. It was very hot all three days with the sun blazing down non stop.
I spent the Friday shooting the cars with the long stuff before returning for the weekend with a walk about, it was far too hot to be lugging about heavy camera gear in amongst those crowds.

GP2 and F1 practice 1 were shot at Luffield, F1 practice 2 from Farm and we returned to Luffield for the Historic qually.

The major tyre test before this seasons British GP.
McLaren, Renault, Honda, BMW, Williams, Red Bull and Toro Rosso were there along with 15 drivers.

BRSCC clubmans race day on the National circuit. Dull and even murky light but at least it was a tad warmer, well for Silverstone at least.

The early season meeting of the VSCC on the Silverstone National circuit. Sunny spells with a gale force wind greeted the drivers and spectators alike. Various Scratch, Handicap and Trophy races for the excellent turnout of cars.

The MG Car Club spring meeting run on the Silverstone National circuit, featuring the JEC powered by Jaguar, MGCC Cockshoot Cup, MG Metro Cup, JEC Saloon, MG Trophy, MGCC, TR Register/TSCC and Classic Spares XJS Championships.

A freezing cold, windy yet sunny start to the day.
Midland F1 were the only team on track up until I left, frozen, around 4PM....seems the Super Aguri team did shake down their two cars some time later.....thanks :(
Silverstone looked even bleaker with both Luffield A & B grandstands raised to the ground.

A poor day light wise but plenty of action on the track. 41 teams of eclectic cars running on the National circuit.

A misty start to the day for qualifying but the clouds broke and the sun came out for the racing, which was excellent.
